The house where Patria, Minerva and María Teresa Mirabal lived their last days. Today it's a museum, with their belongings inside and their remains in the garden.

From the Zona Colonial it's 148 km by road, about 2 h 1 min of driving. The house is on the Salcedo-Tenares road, about 5 km from Salcedo.
Patria, Minerva and María Teresa Mirabal lived their last days here, before the Trujillo dictatorship had them murdered on November 25, 1960.
The Fundación Hermanas Mirabal opened it as a museum on December 8, 1994.
Their belongings are kept inside: furniture, dishes, books, dresses, wedding photos, diplomas, and drawings and paintings they made themselves.
A bloodstained handkerchief and María Teresa's braid are also kept here.
They lived their last days here.
In the garden, a mausoleum holds the remains of the three sisters, moved there in 2000.
By decree, the mausoleum is an extension of the Panteón Nacional.
Today November 25 is the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women.
And since 2007, the province has carried the sisters' name.
