Jarabacoa is a municipality of La Vega province, in the Cordillera Central, more than 500 meters above sea level.
It's an hour from Santiago and from Cibao International Airport.
People call it the city of eternal spring for its mild days and cool nights.

Three rivers run through the municipality: the Yaque del Norte, the Jimenoa and the Baiguate.
The Yaque del Norte and the Jimenoa meet at a spot called La Confluencia.
The top thing to do here is rafting and tubing on the Yaque del Norte. You can also paraglide over the valley.
And there are three waterfalls: Jimenoa I and II, and the Salto de Baiguate, where you can take a dip.
Jarabacoa is one of the main gateways to Pico Duarte: the most used route starts at La Ciénaga, in this same municipality.
