Cabarete is a municipal district of Sosúa, in Puerto Plata province. If you're flying in, the Puerto Plata airport is about 18 km away.
Its bay has hosted the professional Windsurfing World Cup, and the town was one of the first kitesurfing hubs.
Kite Beach, about 2.4 km west of the bay, is the most used beach for kiting: flat water and waves along the reef.
