From Las Galeras, by sea or by land

The boats leave from the village beach and take 15 to 20 minutes.2

By road, the last stretch is dirt: it runs past farms and crosses streams, so a lot of people go in a 4x4.2

One side has calm water for snorkeling and sun; the north side has waves.4

At one end the Caño Frío flows out, a river that runs down through mangroves: you go from the sea to fresh water in a few steps.5

On the sand there are small eateries with fresh fish, lobster, plantain and rice.2

No lifeguards, and two currents

Watch out for two currents: one by the cliffs at the end of the beach and another where the river meets the sea.2

On Sundays local families come. On weekday mornings it's less crowded.2
